Preservation of evidence

Construction activities can cause damage to surrounding buildings. Fracture monitoring protocols and vibration measurements are preventive forms of evidence and serve as a possible basis for damage settlement.

To determine, in the event of damage, whether and to what extent construction work has actually caused damage to a neighbouring property, it is advisable for the client, in accordance with their duty of care under Art. 111 of SIA Standard 118, to arrange for a pre-construction condition survey.

If a dispute arises, the preservation of evidence provides you with objective and professional arguments in order to properly settle the case and have unjustified claims dismissed.
